Organisation’s vision:

To lead the way for sustainable futures of oceanic research as a flagship sustainability project, aimed at zero carbon and acoustic emissions.

Organisation’s mission:

To expand the scope of discovery science, under sail, in remote and unstudied regions, pursuing new discoveries, exploring new technology solutions and contributing fresh insights into climate change, to open source databases.

Organisation’s objectives (if different from the Mission):

- To provide the research vessel infrastructure for world-leading ocean scientists to undertake research in difficult to get to places;
- To focus on the impacts of climate change on oceanic and coastal environments through global collaborative research across three themes: clean energy, healthy oceans, sustainable operations;
- To operate globally in under-researched and climate sensitive areas (e.g. melting glaciers in Arctic East Greenland, Pacific Islands threatened with inundation);
- To use 100% renewable energy generated on board traditional wooden sailing vessels, producing zero carbon emissions;
- To produce zero acoustic emissions - a vital scientific innovation for safe research with whales, dolphins and all marine species, vulnerable to acoustic trauma.
